Did You Miss Me?

Hope you did!

2018 Rundown Things

I know, I know. It’s been quiet here for a long while. But believe me, a lot was happening in the background and about to bring you’ ll to date, promise.

So where did we leave off? June it was. Let’s just make it May.

May 2018

May was much fun.

16th:

#TeamBodyTalk visited a school in Yaounde, Cameroon on the 16th to talk to a bunch of young people about a few things like Body Image and Self Confidence. It was a moving and enriching experience.

28th:

The 28th of May  is World Menstrual Hygiene Day and we created some awareness via social media thanks to a cute video from worldmenstraulhygiene.org

June

June is when things got crazy and we had to slack off lol.

July

Amazing is the word. We launched a social media campaign in the beginning of July to educate people about an important but neglected disease: Viral Hepatitis. This was all in preparation for World Hepatitis Day on the 28th of July 2018.

25th to 28th-

In partnership with the World Hepatitis Alliance, The Student Union of the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and YISS, a three-day event was carried out for testing, vaccination and counselling on Viral Hepatitis.

A study on the Knowledge and Attitudes of Medical Students towards Viral Hepatitis was also carried out.

Needless to say, it was a hit. Over 200 people were tested and counselled on Hepatitis and HIV, more than 30 people started vaccination and were linked to follow-up centres.

September

We needed to rest off all that stress mehn!

We kept the discussions going on Facebook and Our Whatsapp Chat Group.

October

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and we paired up with The Hope Center Cameroon to carry out a few activities.

November

Chilling guys, chillin’ but we did get some work in.
